Vanden Plas EFI 1986
The car was bought with 350.000 km on the clock, but had a new engine installed at 185.000 km because of a fault in the computer box. The car is free of rust, which is very rare to see. The car was maintained in it's originally condition and has run as a company car with two owners. July 2000: The engine AFM has now been calibrated the same way with an Lambda sond. Average consumption an mixed driving is 7.5 to 9.0 km/liters. Long trips is around 10.0 to 10.8 km/l so far. The car has always been rather difficult to start, whether cold or
warm (worse than my red VDP has ever been). Spark plugs, starter motor,
distributor cab, ignition wires, amplifier module has been changed, but
did not help the slow starting problem. Next step will be fitting a
Lumenitition ignition kit and if necessary, a MSD amplifier. It will
properly have the same effect as on my own VDP.
